According to research firm, Challenger, Gray, and Christmas, Inc., March Madness will cost American businesses $134 million dollars in just the first two days of the tournament. They also claim an estimate of 3 million workers will spend up to three hours following the tournament while working.

But here’s the silver lining:

“At the end of the day, March Madness will not even register as a blip in the overall economy. Sequestration is going to have a far bigger impact,” said Challenger in a news release

NCAA Basketball: Georgetown at Marquette

Now that that’s out the way, whom do you have winning the overall tourney? Big East Champions, Georgetown, enters the tournament as a #2 seed and will play their first game in Philadelphia, PA against Florida Gulf Coast University (who?) on March 21 . With Duke’s rough end to a great season, they also have their first game in Philadelphia, but on March 22. #1 seed Gonzaga will tip off on March 21 against Southern University. #8 Temple University will begin play in Dayton, Ohio against #9 North Carolina State, a game sure to be exciting. Last year’s champions, Kentucky; have failed to make this year’s tournament. The Final Four will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.
