2013 is really shaping up to be Beyoncé‘s year. Amidst the controversy of her recent promotional track “Bow Down/I Been On”, fashion label H&M has announced that Bey would be the face of their upcoming summer collection in a campaign titled “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter for H&M”. The head designer of H&M has also revealed that the collection would be a representation of Bey’s personal style. Mrs. Carter will also be releasing a song “Standing in the Sun” for the commercial of the collection which will be revealed next month.

Beyoncé states:

It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial. I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind.”

Excited for Bey’s face to be plastered on H&M walls everywhere AND your Pepsi cans?

    Good move for both Bey & H&M. Many will think “Why promote another brand when you have your own?”. Unlike H&M, Dereon & House of Dereon are known for being higher priced fashions so, in my opinion, putting her face to an affordable brand will not only put H&M at the top of the game but bring a little light back to her own brand. My opinion, however, may be biased. My closet will tell you I’m already an H&M shopper & I’ll be the first to admit I’m a bit Queen Bey obsessed. LOL
