Admittedly, I have two attitudes when it comes to discovering great new music. Sometimes, it’s a selfish one, only wanting to keep the new discovery to myself in fear that too much exploitation will corrupt the quality and uniqueness of the music. The other attitude, one of uncontrollable desire to spread the good news, this music must be heard by everyone! But when something is good, it’s good and it’s ultimately my responsibility to let as many know about greatness as possible. Enter: Elli Ingram. Riding the waves of the continual British invasion, the 19 year old singer/songwriter is looking to make her marks in similar ways of her predecessors. With a unique voice (reminiscent of everyone’s favorite UK crooner Adele) and a sound that influences elements of Hip Hop, Jazz, R&B, and Folk, she has the ability to truly become a great crossover to the States.

elli-ingram-sober_0Elli’s six track debut EP Sober includes fitting tracks of dizzying intoxication, inebriated situations of desire, longing, and inappropriate texts late at night. It offers an intriguing perspective with great lyricism and impressive vocals. It includes her reworked cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice” which initial garnered her attention and the incredibly impressive track “High Love”.
