Winnie Mandela was the former wife of former South African President and world renown political revolutionary Nelson Mandela . She is arguably one of the most controversial political figures. However, in the up and coming biopic about her life we see her in the role that was initially known for: a loving wife fighting to keep her husband’s dream alive. The T.D. Jakes film which stars Oscar-winning Singer/Actress Jennifer Hudson in the lead role (alongside Terrence Howard in the role of Nelson Mandela) will hit theaters on September 6th, 2013.
