After nearly 22 years, Jay Leno said his last farewell to approximately 14.4 million viewers of the Tonight Show last night.  As you may recall, he famously left the show in 2009 and was succeeded by then Late Night host Conan O’Brien only to subsequently return to the show in 2010 due to poor ratings. This resulted in a great deal of criticism and controversy. This time around, Jimmy Fallon, will replace Leno (who originally stepped in after Johnny Carson) on February 17th at the conclusion of the 2014 Winter Olympics. Among those honoring him in a humorous farewell were Billy Crystal, Kim Kardashian, Jack Black, Sheryl Crow, Carol Burnett and Oprah Winfrey singing  an altered rendition of “So Long, Farewell” (made famous by the Von Trapp Family Singers). Check out the comical performance below:

He has certainly made an impact on late night television and created some truly memorable TV moments. He will certainly be missed.
