Annie

We last saw 10-year old actress Quvenzhané Wallis briefly in the role of Solomon Northup’s daughter in the recent Oscar Award Winning Film 12 Years A Slave. Many are probably more familiar with her Oscar-nominated role in the film Beasts of the Southern Wild in the year prior to that (making her the youngest actress ever nominated).  She captivated us with her infectious smile, charisma and immense talent and is hoping to do the same with her newest role. In the second film adaptation of this Broadway classic, she will be playing the role of Annie, an orphan who captures the heart of a wealthy politician (played by Jamie Foxx) much to the dismay of the cruel and bitter owner of her orphanage Miss Hannigan (played by Cameron Diaz). The film was co-produced by Jay-Z & Will Smith and the role of Annie was originally set to be played by Willow Smith. She later decided to turn down the role feeling that she was too old to play it.
