Selma is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches. The marches were lead by James Bevel, Hosea Williams, Martin Luther King, and John Lewis. David Oyelowo plays Dr. King, Tom Wilkinson plays Pres. Lyndon Johnson, Common as Bevel, and Carmen Ejogo as Coretta Scott King. Oprah, Wendell Price, and Lorraine Toussaint are also part of the ensemble cast. Oprah and Brad Pitt are among the four producers. Selma hits select theaters on Christmas Day and everywhere on January 9th. Watch the trailer below:
