With summer on it’s way to commencement, so will be the abundance of cookouts, rooftop parties, and good ‘ol fashioned drinking sessions. This post will intrigue you vodka enthusiasts or those that dislike vodka without flavor. During summer, we can safely assume that most drinkers would prefer sweeter drinks than bitter drinks. With that said, I have entailed a few vodka flavors that you may not be knowledgeable of and recipes that are sure keep your taste buds satisfied and your body intoxicated.
Have your cake and drink it too!
Celebrate the summer with a birthday cake like no other. Three Olives’ Birthday Cake flavor entails the taste of English vodka and a festive taste of birthday cake. As kids, we all loved it when it was time to serve the cake to get sugar rushes, now as adults we can just get intoxicated.
Aaron’s Tidbit: Take a shot and chase it with ice cream!
Suggested recipe: Cake N’ Cola
- 1 part Three Olives Cake Vodka
- Your favorite cola
Price range: $17-$20 – 750mL
Summer is the time us Americans like to embrace our tropical roots, or lack there of. We may not consider SVEDKA to be a top shelf brand, but it sure isn’t bottom-shelf, so if you’re balling on a budget SVEDKA Strawberry Colada would be a good look. SVEDKA Strawberry Colada is a tropical blend of vodka infused with strawberry, coconut, and pineapple. Yumm! But don’t forget in the words of Samuel L. Jackson … or Dave Chappelle, “It’ll get ya drunk.”
Aaron’s Tidbit: Just take shots of this … no chaser.
Suggested recipe: MÉNAGE À COLADA
- 1½ parts SVEDKA Strawberry Colada
- 1½ parts pineapple juice
- Club soda
Price range: $12-$16
Our northern neighbors in Canada have provided us with cucumber tasting vodka. Pearl’s cucumber flavored vodka is basically what it sounds like, vodka infused with refreshing cucumbers. Don’t knock it until you try it!
Aaron’s Tidbit: This should not substitute for your daily intake of vegetables! #StayYoungStayFit
Suggested recipe: Perfect Pinot
- 2 oz. Pearl Cucumber Vodka
- 3 oz. Pinot Grigio Wine
- Splash of Lemon Juice
- Pinch of Sugar
- 4-5 Mint Leaves
- Splash of Sprite
Price Range: $12-$15 – 750mL
Take your talents to South Beach!
ABSOLUT adds to their collection of city inspired vodka flavors with Absolut Miami. Infused with passion fruit and orange, this flavored vodka drink is sure to make every night feel like you’re on South Beach.
