The Experience:
This happy hour is a bit of a blur, so I’m guessing that’s a great thing. Helix Lounge resides on the first floor of Hotel Helix, a swank and modern entity of the Kimpton Hotel brand. Much like the flair of the hotel, Helix Lounge sports an attractively sleek and modern decor that invites stylish guests, countless pours of drinks and great conversation. Although the happy hour is short (only two hours), it’s still plenty of time to try their different drink selections and accompanying appetizers. The Helix Chicken Fingers for example where the perfect portions and the fries were amazing.
Naturally, everyone started with their favorite drinks (a mix of beer, house rails and classic cosmos). The classic cosmos offered were a steal and the size of our house mixed drinks were fitting for the price point. The ambiance of the lounge forces natural conversation and the liquor doesn’t hurt either. The crowd is usually minimal but can get a little packed toward the later half of happy hour. During warm weather this is no cause for concern as the lounge sports an impressive outside area where cocktails an conversations can flow. All in all, Helix Lounge is a great happy hour with great price points and great liquor. Enjoy.
