The body must break down in order to become stronger. (No Pain, No Gain!)

It’s officially Spring! Mother Nature is still acting bi-polar, but it seems that the light at the end of the tunnel is very near. We can finally take advantage of more sunlight and nice temperatures, which may have deterred our focus away from fitness during the winter. There’s no more room for excuses! Here’s your fitness challenge for the month:

Monday – Friday

  • 2 – 3x 15-30min runs – Before work or after. Maybe even during your lunch break.
  • 2 – 3x circuits(separate days): – Complete after runs or days in between

25 push-ups

50 – abs

In-place high knees – 30sec

10 lunges per leg

25 push-ups

50 – abs

In-place high knees – 30sec

20 body weight squats

15 – 25 push-ups

25 – 50 – abs

Stretch!

Saturday/Sunday

On either one of these days, run up and down a decent flight of stairs (local tracks would have these) 10 – 15 times.

On the other day, rest and stretch or do yoga.

Here’s your diet challenge:

  • During the weekdays, when consuming a beverage opt only for water … unless it is a cocktail.
  • For those attempting to lose weight and gain abs, cut your carbs(bread, potatoes, fries etc.) intake in half after 4pm. Typically by 4pm, most individuals have done the most activity they will do for the day, which means the body’s metabolism decreases tremendously.
